German, WW2 Original German WW2 Spanish Medal for German Condor Legion You are bidding on a WWII Medal in excellent condition that was also awarded to German soldiers of the "Condor Legion" by the nationalist Spanish Government (Gen. Franco) during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939. Initially, the Condor Legion consisted of 100 airplanes and 5,000 German soldiers. By rotation of the contingents, a total of approximately 20,000 German soldiers served in Spain. In the past I have seen some photographs of German soldiers in uniform wearing this medal. The pictures pretty much show the condition and the writing on the medal. The front shows a lion with the date 17 Julio 1936. The back shows an eagle, shield and some arrows, probably significant to the nationalistic Spanish cause, as well as some Spanish writing around the border. Original pictures.
