Original WW2 German~Dutch Navy Officer Dagger,
stamped Solingen This is a wonderful World War 2 era officer's
dagger made by in Germany for use by the Navy of the
Netherlands. The stiletto blade measures 9-3/4" in length and has
been etched with a series of Naval motifs. Overall length is 13-3/4". The
ricasso is signed with an etched E.F.Horster/Soligen mark. A series of two bands
consisting of four ribs each add to the grip. The CONDITION of this rare dagger is EXCELLENT.
Most of the gold finish has worn off of the pommel and cross-guard. The worn
area is quite small and is not easily noticed. The grip is somewhat dirty and I
did not attempt to use a cleaner on it. If you collect World War 2 memorabilia,
this German made dagger would certainly make a wonderful addition to your
collection!
