German WW2 Luftwaffe Flyer's Commemorative Badge
Up for auction is a German WW2 Luftwaffe (=German Air Force) Flugerinnerungsabzeichen (Pilot Commemorative Badge). The badge was introduced in 1936 and issued for honourable discharge to flying personnel who previously received Luftwaffe badges (i.e. aerial gunner, observer) in the line of duty. In the case of death, the Next Of Kin could receive this award as well. The item is marked on the back.
REFERENCE: Order & Ehrenzeichen 1800-1945, by Jorg Nimmergut, 2003/2004, item #4023, valued 1750.00 or$2205.00. Manion auction sold this badge for$1800 - look athere (lot #5608944).
Estimate price for this item is $1800 - $1900.
