GERMAN WW2 LUFTWAFFE PILOT OBSERVERS Badge, TOMBAK, ASSMANN
Up for auction is a rare German WW2 PILOT OBSERVERS BADGE by ASSMANN's, which is is considered one of the most sought after Luftwaffe items. The award was introduced in 1936. Luftwaffe personnel needed to complete five operational flights to be eligible for the award. This Observer badge is in good condition and features nice detail. The badge is marked on the back (Assmann). Nice and VERY RARE !! For sample I put a photo of German officer with the same badge.
Reference: Detlev Niemann in "Price Guide. Orders and decorations Germany" 2004, page 762, price is 600 EURO (6 years ago !!), but in a 3d addition in 2008 the price is increased to $1100 (page 762) for that nice badge. Condition is XF.
Estimate price for this item is $1350 - $1400.
